Dudley residents enjoy family fun day event
Locals at one of our Extra care housing services have enjoyed a day of family fun in the sun at a summer fete supported by Midland Heart.
Held at Broad Meadow extra care housing scheme in Dudley the event brought together people from the local community with residents and their families.
The event featured entertainment from a magician, stalls selling home made cakes, bric-a-brac, and gifts, as well as a raffle, tombola and fun and games. Staff also took part in a sponsored three legged race. The activities held throughout the day raised money towards the resident’s activities fund.
Barbara Richards who is a resident at Broad Meadow said: “Lots of the residents have been working for weeks to put everything on and donate things to the event. I’ve really enjoyed visiting all of the stalls today”.
Elaine Thomas who also lives at Broad Meadow said: “I have had a lovely day. I looked at, ate at, bought at every stall and enjoyed watching the magician.”
Julie McKay, Team Leader at the service said: “It was great to see so many people from the local community support our event and join in the fun. Customers, their families and friends all took part and made it a really special day. The money raised from the day will give the residents a chance to enjoy some new activities”.
Broad Meadow offers a mix of rented, shared ownership and outright owned accommodation for people aged 55 and over.
