Property Care Team Launch
On 1st April, Midland Heart launched Property Care, our new in-house maintenance team. Property Care will serve customers living in the North Birmingham area, improving Midland Heart's repairs services to its 3,400 social housing tenants living in Handsworth and Lozells.
The new Property Care team will be headed up by Phill Heales who has extensive experience in this field. He will manage a highly skilled workforce of 25 trade professionals, some of whom will have transferred from our former contractor for these areas, Lovell.
Phill commented: "We want to provide the best possible service for customers by making sure we understand and cater for everyone's needs."
The key aims of the new service are to improve customer satisfaction, provide a high quality service and increase efficiency with the use of state-of-the-art repair scheduling systems and mobile technology to manage and monitor the repairs service.
All vehicles will be branded with the Midland Heart logo and the staff will wear a standard uniform and carry a photo identification badge.
However, Midland Heart will still continue to use external contractors to carry out specialist repairs work. They will also be used to respond to high demand during very busy periods, and carry out repairs where it is not cost-effective to use in-house staff.
"Whether it is our new Repair Team or external contractors who undertake repairs, we want to make sure residents expect and receive the same high level of service," Phill added.
If this pilot scheme proves successful, the Property Care team will look to expand its operational boundaries into other regions occupied by Midland Heart properties.
