Midlands focus for future of health
We have been working alongside key health and housing partners in the midlands to really understand local health, care and support issues as part of the commission launched by NLGN and Collaborate earlier this year.
Last autumn Midland Heart hosted a number of focus groups with local health and housing partners to explore how key stakeholders in Birmingham are supporting community based Reablement – in particular how can we make community based Reablement with non clinical care a success.
We would like to thank all those that supported the focus groups, including; Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, Birmingham City Council, Bromford, Birmingham Cross City CCG and Proczero.
Our findings are being fed back into a report which the commission will launch next year. Chaired by Lord Victor Adebowale, the Commission will tackle the most challenging questions facing both the NHS and local councils today as they struggle with rising demand, reducing budgets and the changing demographics of their service users.
Joe Reeves, Corporate Affairs Director for Midland Heart said: “This is an exciting opportunity to really understand the local health, care and support issues and to ultimately play our part in helping to shape a future that sees wider whole system reform.”
