Ruth Cooke, Chief Executive Officer

Ruth is the Chief Executive Officer of Midland Heart. Ruth has extensive experience in the housing and not-for-profit sector. Prior to joining Midland Heart as Finance Director she was Group Director of Resources at Arcadia Housing Group. Ruth has also held the positions of Chief Finance Officer at Anchor Trust as well as gaining experience with PricewaterhouseCoopersLLP providing assurance and advisory services to a range of clients with a particular focus on the housing sector. Ruth is a chartered accountant and qualified corporate treasurer.

Chris Munday, Managing Director Care and Support

Chris joined Prime Focus, which merged with Keynote to form Midland Heart, in April 2003. He had been with Stonham HA from 1990, initially as Project Manager, then becoming Service Manager and finally Regional Director.

Janice Smith, Strategy and Business Support Director

Janice is Director of Strategy & Business Support and her remit is to guide the organisation and its people to be more effective through ensuring the organisation has a shared and clear picture of it's future and develops the capacity to turn vision into results.  She leads the organisation's support services of Organisational Development, Information Technology, Business Transformation, Innovation & Research, Marketing & Communications, Facilities Management and Health & Safety.  

Carl Larter, Director of New Business

Carl Larter is a Chartered Surveyor with 12 years experience in the housing sector during which he has worked for a number of registered social landlords on a range of projects from housing to student and keyworker projects. At Midland Heart, Carl is the Executive Director of New Business and Development with corporate responsibility for development and commercial operations, which includes sales & marketing and leasehold management.
 
Michelle Musgrave, Customer and Communities Director

Michelle Musgrave was Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services for Rotherham MBC, a post which she held for three years since moving from Canada.  She was previously Chief Executive for Durham Region Non-Profit Housing Corporation, one of the largest housing providers in Ontario, and one of the ten biggest in Canada. Michelle held that position for 12 years and was with the Regional government for 6 years prior.

Michelle is passionate about quality customer service and enhancing the ability of customers to choose the way that services are delivered to them and will be responsible for leading on Midland Heart’s ‘Customer First’ pledge alongside the newly developed Customer Service Committee. The Customer Service Committee is a pioneering way of making sure customers can be involved at every level of the organisation in a way that is both meaningful and credible.
