The Homes and Communities Agency is the single, national housing and regeneration agency for England.
Our vision is about creating opportunity for people to live in homes they can afford, in places they want to live and for local authorities and communities to deliver the ambition they have for their own areas.
David Rhead, team leader at the Homes and Communities Agency said: “The importance of this scheme is such that we have invested £8.6million, drawing on our Place for Changes and national Affordable Housing programme budgets.
Not only will the conversion of this building meet strict quality and sustainability criteria, it will deliver an important community living scheme and will also offer construction jobs and apprenticeships."
The HCA brings together English Partnerships, investment functions of the Housing Corporation, and the Academy for Sustainable Communities, with major delivery programmes of Communities and Local Government.
Elaine Elkington, strategic director of Housing and Constituencies at Birmingham City Council, said: "These new facilities will offer individuals the support they need to help them get back into employment, full time education or training, and subsequently permanent housing.
"Birmingham has a commitment to deliver modern facilities that meet the changing needs of the homeless population and we believe that a recognised scheme such as Snow Hill will deliver this need.
