On the 24th September 2015 two new contracts will be starting for the repair, testing and upgrade of Fire, Security & Life Safety Systems. These contracts cover the following systems in over 2,200 Midland Heart properties: Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarms, Warden Call, Access Control, Automated Doors, CCTV, Door Entry, Dry Risers, Electric Gates, Fire Equipment, GSM Dual Communicators, Intruder Alarm, Panic Alarm, Smoke Vents, Sprinklers and Uninterruptible Power Supplies.
These contracts do not cover other electrical systems e.g. normal lighting, sockets etc., these will continue to be undertaken by existing suppliers.
The contract is split into two geographical areas based on local authority.
The North region has been awarded to Openview and covers North Birmingham and the North West
The South region has been awarded to CCSS and covers South Birmingham and all parts south as well as the East Midlands
Customers will be contacted in advance by each supplier to arrange access for testing or upgrades. The process for raising a repair remains unaltered and customers should contact the Midland Heart Customer Hub on 0345 60 20 540
The new contracts come with enhanced response times for emergencies. Faults with Fire Alarms will be responded to within 1 hour. Other emergencies will be responded to within 2 hours.
