Midland Heart Awards New Contracts

Repairs 1

Midland Heart has awarded two new contracts for the testing and upgrade of electrical systems in Midland Heart properties. The awarding of these contracts has been highly anticipated.

Dodd Group, a family owned business, has secured the first contract. The contract will largely involve testing the fixed electrical wiring in Midland Heart properties alongside the testing of portable appliances (PAT) owned by Midland Heart, lighting conductors, high voltage equipment and generators.

The second contract was re-awarded to CCSS Ltd, the current supplier for this contract. CCSS Ltd will be responsible for continuing the storage heater replacement programme and planned major electrical repairs such as rewiring.

Rob Whalley, Contracts Manager at Midland Heart said: “We are delighted to be awarding the electrical testing contract to Dodd Group and the upgrade contract to CCSS Ltd. These contracts will enable Midland Heart to continue to ensure customer safety and continue with the electrical heating upgrade programme”

The new contracts will only apply to servicing and planned upgrades. Day to day repairs for customers will continue to be completed by existing suppliers. However, where testing or upgrades have been planned, customers will be contacted in advance by each supplier to arrange access.
