Fire Safety: Information for customers
Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Court in Kensington, London, yesterday, a number of customers have contacted us for advice and reassurance.
We want to reassure customers that we comply with our legal responsibilities and our staff teams work across the midlands to carry out safety checks each and every day. Our priority is to keep you safe.
We have specialist fire risk officers who carry out assessments on all our blocks of flats. Where necessary our blocks are installed with the appropriate fire alarms and physical barriers such as fire doors and test fire systems on a monthly basis and service them annually.
Please remember you can also keep yourself and your neighbours safe by ensuring corridors are kept clear, follow all of our advice on fire safety and where necessary please allow us access to complete servicing and safety checks.
In blocks of flats, the type of evacuation will be clearly stated on the Fire Action Notice in the communal area. If there is a ‘stay put’ policy in place, this is based on local fire service advice and it’s verified by our fire risk assessors who make sure we’re doing everything we need to in order to keep you safe.
