Three new non-executive board members

We have appointed three new non-executive directors to our board as we drive forward with our ‘Fit for the Future’ strategy.

New Board Members

We have recruited a mix of talented, experienced individuals to ensure we continue to meet our commercial and operational aspirations.

The three new non-executive directors are Carole Mills, Chris West and Mina Parmar.

Both Carole and Chris have over 25 years’ experience working in the public sector including strategic responsibility for resources and housing, as well as experience of working in culturally diverse communities.

Initially from the Midlands, Carole has held multiple executive roles at both Nottingham City Council and Walsall Council before taking up the chief executive position at Milton Keynes Council in 2014.

Carole is joined on the board by Chris West who spent the majority of his career at Coventry City Council undertaking various roles including director of finance and legal services, head of financial management and executive director of resources.

Completing the new non-executive director appointments is Mina Parmar. With over 20 years’ experience as a chartered surveyor, Mina has delivered a number of multi-million pound projects across the public, private and corporate sectors.

Originally from Birmingham, Mina’s experience includes successfully creating and delivering the Home Office national property strategy, as well as co-ordinating estate strategies at Drivers Jonas Deloitte, Foreign Office, HM Treasury, Belfast City Council and HS2 Ltd.

Andrew Foster, Director of Governance and Contracts, says: “In 2015, we launched an ambitious new strategy to help to future proof the organisation and ensure we could meet our commitments to both customers and our partners.
"This year we have taken the opportunity to recruit new members to the Board to ensure we have the rights skills on the  board to effectively steward the business through the next few years.

“The new appointments bring us fresh experience and insights to help us to operate effectively, which will help us to maintain high levels of investment in the business whilst expanding our new build output.

“We are delighted to have attracted and secured such top quality directors that not only have a passion for and genuine interest in housing, but also a commitment to the region.

“Carole, Chris and Mina have a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities which the Housing sector faces. The knowledge each brings to the board will help the business successfully to navigate changes in our operating environment over the coming months and to deliver our strategy for the benefit of our customers,” added Andrew.
