Cabinet member tours £8.2m housing scheme
Birmingham City Council’s cabinet member for housing has had a chance to tour an £8.2m housing scheme in the East of the city.
Councillor Peter Griffiths joined Midland Heart and Westleigh Homes for a tour of the site on Sheldon Hall Avenue, which once complete will deliver a mix of two, three and four bedroom properties for affordable rent and purchase through shared ownership.
Following the visit, Councillor Peter Griffiths, said: "New homes such as those currently being developed at Sheldon Hall Avenue are essential for the future sustainability of our City.
"You can already see how it is having a positive impact on the surrounding community and once complete, it will attract a range prospective homeowners and tenants able to contribute to the fabric of the existing community. I am delighted to see how quickly progress is being made and the quality of the build."
Constructed on the former international school, once complete it will deliver 64 new homes, with the first homes available for occupation this summer.
