Staff raise over £4,000 taking part in Fright or Flight challenge
On Friday 16 February, 18 of our courageous staff took part in Birmingham St Mary's Hospice annual Fright or Flight event.
Participants were challenged to abseil down Park Regis hotel, Birmingham which is over 137ft, then completing a stair rush back up the 16 storeys to the top.
Some participants completed it as a tag-team, taking on either the heights or the stairs, while others completed the whole challenge themselves.
Louisa Hill, Customer Services Officer in the Customer Hub said: "I'm not going to lie, I was terrified on that roof - it was so high! The support was immense from the Hospice staff and Red-point instructors, but mostly from colleagues. They were there to support me when I was so scared, and cheered when I was back on the ground. It was truly a wonderful experience with some truly wonderful people - We did it!"
Together, the team’s fundraising efforts have raised over £4000 for the hospice to help them to continue delivering their vital services.
