West goes East!
New non executive director Chris West recently enjoyed a fact-finding visit to one of our housing developments progressing in Leicester.
Chris, who joined us at the end of 2017, said: “This was my first visit to the St Mary’s site – and I was very impressed, in particular with the quality of the properties we are building. The development is a partnership with Westleigh Partnerships Ltd and between us we are creating homes for sale, shared ownership and affordable rent to help meet housing need in Leicester.
“I was impressed too by the colleagues from Midland Heart that I met, most of them for the first time. It is their professionalism, hard work and commitment that enables us to deliver these schemes,” added Chris, pictured third from left, during his site tour.
St Mary’s Place is on the site of former allotments in Old Saffron Lane, Aylestone and is one of a trio of Leicester developments we are creating with Westleigh to bring much-needed housing to the area and regenerate disused land. The other sites are at Wolsey Island, where residents have already begun to move in, and Green Lane Road. Both sites were previously home to factory buildings.
Now a freelance consultant and chartered public finance accountant, Chris spent much of his career at Coventry City Council where he was executive director of resources and a member of the council’s strategic management board.
