Pay your rent
Paying your rent should be one of your main priorities and it forms a key part of the tenancy agreement you have with us. It’s your responsibility to make sure that your rent is paid, whether you pay the rent yourself, or if it is funded by someone else such as your local Housing Benefit office. If you’re struggling, let us know as soon as you can so we can work together to find a solution.
When you start your tenancy with us and we give you the keys to your home, we normally expect you to pay one week or month’s rent up front. We will send you four rent statements each year. You can request a copy of your rent statement at any time of the year by contacting us.
Failure to pay your rent
If you don’t pay your rent this will result in arrears building up on your account which we will need to speak to you about urgently. By not paying your rent you will be breaking the terms of your tenancy agreement and this could lead to legal action if we are not able to resolve the problem with you. If you are having issues with paying your rent please let us know as soon as possible.
How we set your rent
The rent you pay goes into repairing and maintaining your home, building new homes, and meeting the cost of future improvements such as new kitchens and heating systems.
