Protecting our colleagues against harassment

We define harassment as:

• verbal abuse and threats;
• discriminatory abuse, which includes racist, sexist or homophobic behaviour, and derogatory comments;
• uninvited or unwelcome behaviour of a sexual nature;
• unwanted physical contact; and
• bullying, intimidation or online harassment.

Our available actions

As a reminder, your Tenancy Agreement or Lease clearly states that you, your visitors, or any person who lives with you, will not harass or threaten to harass any person. Where harassment is reported, we'll think about taking the following actions:

• sending warning letters;
• placing risk alerts on your property;
• restricting access to some of our services;
• taking tenancy enforcement action such as legal injunctions and in serious cases (for renters), this could lead to us taking possession of your home; and
• asking the police or other agencies to help us.

We're also introducing body-worn cameras for all our tenant-facing teams. Your privacy matters to us, so it's important to note that these cameras will not be recording all the time. 

The cameras will only record when our colleagues are working alone, or should they feel unsafe. Protecting both our colleagues and tenants is extremely important to us, and we believe this will help keep everyone safer.
