If you or the people you live with have changed your names, please let us know as soon as possible by completing the below form.
You'll need to provide us with proof of your name change, such as a marriage certificate or decree absolute if you're changing your name because you have got divorced.
If you've got a new number and you need to update this on your residency, please call into our Hub on 0345 60 20 540 and we can sort this for you.
Typically changes to your residency or housefold may include transferring a lease into your sole name, or adding someone to the same.
Midland Heart must approve any changes to the person or persons named on the lease. If consent is granted, you will need to instruct a solicitor to complete the transfer and register the changes with HM Land Registry.
If there is a mortgage secured against the property, we will also need to approve any changes to the mortgage arrangements.
Can I have a lodger?
You may be able to take in a lodger but this would be subject to the terms of your lease and you’ll need to contact us for written permission first.
Don't forget to find out if having a lodger will affect your entitlement to any benefits that you’re claiming.
Can I sublet my home?
Typically, you can’t sublet your whole property to someone and live elsewhere. You must live in your home and it must be your only or main home. Your Lease agreement will confirm this.
We understand that dealing with the loss of a loved one is difficult and there’s a lot to think about.
However, we’ll need to know about the death of any resident as soon as possible.
Click here to visit our bereavement webpage and we can guide you through the process.
