The scheme is made up of 30 Units over 3 floors within the building served by one lift and several stairwells and a stairlift on the main staircase. The properties are heated by electric storage heaters. Electric meters are situated outside each property and electricity is the resident’s responsibility to set up and pay separately to the service charge. Mobility scooters will need to have permission granted before signing up and a risk assessment will need to be undertaken.
There is a large communal lounge within the scheme which houses comfortable seating, books, games, pool table and dart board. Within the lounge there is also an area with comfortable seating and a television. There is a small kitchen area within to make teas and coffee. The lounge is large in size and is used for events such as birthday parties, Christmas, and special occasion events. The lounge is also used for community events arranged by the residents such as fish and chip nights, bingo nights and other events held.
Within the scheme, situated on the ground floor, there is a communal laundry which is accessed by residents on a rota basis. There is a guest room that’s available to rent at a cost of £25 per night.
Are there local amenities?
Within a 5 minute walk there are several local shops including food outlets, The Range and B&Q. If you walk a further 20 minutes you will reach the main town centre and there are also transport links via bus into the town centre, from the town centre transport links can be found to areas such as Derby and Lichfield. Burton train station is easily accessible via car or taxi. The local hospital can be reached via car or taxi in approximately 5 minutes.
