Let's talk about rent support
16/10/2026
Each year the government reviews social rent to make sure it’s still affordable with any increase. We want to understand how the last year has impacted you financially and if we’ve supported you enough.
The amount that we can increase rent by each year is set by the government to make sure it’s fair across the board and it’s affordable, but also so that social housing landlords have the income they need to cover their costs, to look after and improve existing homes and build new ones.
We understand that with rising costs, it can create financial difficulties, which is why we also run our annual Rent Increase Consultation survey. The survey helps us to understand how we can better support you and what you might be struggling with.
(survey closes on Friday 23rd October 2026)
A service charge is a fee for an extra service we provide for your home. This usually covers a communal area that is shared with other homes in a block or on an estate, but not everyone pays a service charge, as that will depend on the services you receive.
For those who do pay, we want to find out how much you understand about service charges, where it goes and what more we can do to communicate this clearly.
