Listening to you and what you have to say is the best way for us to improve our services. So, every month our Tenant Scrutiny team visit different areas across the Midlands to go door knocking and chat with our tenants.

Why we go door knocking

Reaching out to our tenants and speaking with you is at the core of what our Tenant Scrutiny team does and the best way to do this is to pay a visit to your area. It gives us a chance to get to know you, discuss any concerns and take onboard any feedback you have for us.

We know not everyone has access to getting online to get in touch with us, so we like to take the opportunity to speak with you face to face and give you alternative ways to get your voice heard.

What’s involved

When we drop by to knock on your door, we’ll always introduce ourselves, show you our lanyard and ask if you have a couple of minutes to spare to have a chat.

We usually have a topic of conversation in mind when we visit, sometimes it might be a super quick survey we’ll fill out with you, a local event in your area we want to advertise or to simply ask if you’d like to join My Voice and become an Involved Tenant.

We’re always happy to have a chat about anything that’s on your mind and to report back any feedback or issues on your behalf.

Where we visit

We always try to mix it up, so once we’ve visited one area we’ll try and visit other parts of the Midlands next, unless there’s a specific project, we’re promoting in the area that we need to come back for. We aim to do door knocking at least twice a month alongside any other community events or tenant meetings we attend

We try and spend a good part of the day in the area we’re visiting and always try to visit as many of our tenants as possible. However, we do put quality of conversations over quantity so sometimes we might not be able to see everyone if we’ve spent more time at one address.

If you’re not home the day we’re visiting, we’ll leave a calling card behind and are always  happy to be contacted via email or with a call.
