Our Tenancy Services Officer, Rachel, recently played an important role in stopping antisocial behaviour (ASB) at a tenant’s home.
The background
We were told that serious disorderly behaviour, involving men in balaclavas, fights, verbal abuse and weapons, had taken place at a tenant’s home.
How we helped
Rachel managed to get an injunction that stopped everybody, except the tenant, from being at the property. An injunction is a civil court order designed to stop a person from engaging in antisocial behaviour. It's a tool used to address issues like harassment, nuisance, or the potential for harm caused by a person's actions.
Unfortunately, the injunction was breached, so Rachel decided to move forward with possession proceedings and got a possession order. This is also known as an outright order, where the court decides that a tenant needs to leave their home by a specific date.
The outcome
The neighbours have explained that the tenant has since moved on. Rachel, together with the help of bailiffs successfully executed an eviction warrant, which means we can officially close this ASB case.
