You might have seen our Rangers out and about in your neighbourhood, but do you know what they do day to day? Our neighbourhood Rangers help keep shared spaces safe, clean and welcoming.

Who are the Rangers?

Our Rangers team play an important role in looking after our neighbourhoods. Each month, the team visits and inspects over 1,200 blocks, helping to make sure communal areas are safe, well maintained and looked after.

As part of every visit, they carry out fire safety and compliance checks and report any repairs they might spot while they’re in the area.

How do Rangers keep our neighbourhoods safe?

With their regular visits, they focus on safety, compliance and early intervention. This includes:

  • Keeping escape routes clear
  • Identifying fire risks
  • Checking communal area lights
  • Monitoring fly-tipping and reporting antisocial behaviour
  • Checking cleaning and grounds maintenance standards
  • Reporting repairs, damages and hazards
  • Supporting with new signage (i.e. resident parking only)

The Rangers team most importantly maintain a visible presence, so that way you can feel reassured that we’re always here to help if you need us.

Top 3 common myths busted

❌ Myth 1 – Rangers collect household rubbish

✅ Myth busted:

Your household bin collections are managed by your local council and funded by your council tax. With any missed bin collections, you can report this to your local council by phone or on their website.

It’s also important to remember, fly-tipping removal and bulky waste collections are not part of our landlord services.

❌ Myth 2 – Rangers will take care of any pests and vermin

✅ Myth busted:

If pests are inside your home, this is usually something you’ll need to arrange yourself. If the issue is in a shared area, please let us know by calling our Hub team on 0345 60 20 540 and we can look into it.

❌ Myth 3 – The Rangers team do daily home visits

✅ Myth busted:

With over 1,200 blocks to inspect, our Rangers aim to visit each block once a month. Some visits might be prioritised because of fire safety checks, safeguarding concerns or repeat issues.
