Developing new, affordable, quality homes
2014/15 saw the highest number of new affordable homes ever completed and handed over to customers in one year by Midland Heart at almost 800. These in turn helped employ large numbers of people directly and indirectly via supply chains, contracting arrangements and investment in local services.
Up until the end of March this year, 1,650 homes were built for Midland Heart’s consortium of housing providers through the Homes and Communities Agency’s Affordable Homes Programme 2011/15, of which over 1,270 were for Midland Heart alone, built with a limited grant contribution. Midland Heart has successfully secured Funding for the 2013/17 Affordable Homes Guarantees Programme (another HCA programme) which will see a further 400+ homes built by the close of the programme.
