Severn Trent are working on behalf of Midland Heart to check homes that have unusually high meter readings. This could be because you're using more water than normal but it could be a leak.

To be safe, Severn Trent will send a technician out to your home to check everything's ok and fix any problems.

They'll carry out a water efficiency check which will include:

  • Checks for simple leaks, on taps and the toilet, which they'll repair where possible
  • Installation of water saving devices where appropriate
  • An assessment of your current water use
  • Top tips to help you save water at home

This will help lower your bills and reduce water wastage.

Why are you doing these checks?

Severn Trent have been tasked by the government to reduce the amount of water that's wasted each year through leaks and drips.

By doing this, people will save money on their water bills.

What happens?

Severn Trent will test all water supply connections throughout your home, and if leaks are found, they'll complete your repairs such as tap changes and ball valves, to toilet cisterns.

If bigger and more intrusive leaks are found, they'll be passed to us to fix.

How long does it take?

It'll take around 45 minutes, where the engineer will share information on saving water and offer free water saving equipment if needed. An adult will need to be present for the visit.
