The answer is simpler than you think - you should change your password (and your toothbrush) every three months and never share it!

We all play a part in protecting our data from hackers and one of the best tips to remember to make sure we’re all cyber-secure is changing our passwords regularly.

Passwords are essential for protecting your electronic accounts and devices from unauthorized access and keeping sensitive, personal information safe.

Our Cybersecurity Team have shared these top password tips to help you keep your data safe:

  • Sharing passwords gives other people instant access to protected data and they can use that password to potentially guess passwords to your other work or personal accounts. Treat your password like your toothbrush – don’t share it with anyone.
  • Changing your password every few months increases password safety and reduces the risk to your data.
  • A complex password can make it harder for cybercriminals to guess - the more complex the password, the safer your sensitive data will be.
  • Don’t use the same password for each of your accounts. If someone gets into one of your accounts and you use the same password across multiple platforms, they could then access all of them!

Remember these top tips and make use of them across all your online accounts, including your Midland Heart Homes account and our customer app.
