It’s really important for us that we can tailor our services to meet your needs – but to do this, we need to know a bit more about you! And this is where our tenant census comes in…

What’s a tenant census?

Our tenant census is a way for us to gain a little bit more information about you, such as the make up of your household, any vulnerabilities you may have and anything else we might need to take onboard when delivering our services to you.

We launched our tenant census to a group of around 5000 tenants back in June, made up of home owners, mutual exchange tenants and residents of the Handsworth Ward.

One of our involved tenants recently spoke to us about why it’s so important to update the information we hold about you and the benefits it can have for the services you receive, click here to read what John had to say.

What were the results of the census?

We included around 5000 tenants in our initial pilot, and received a response from 13.2% which went above our target of 10%!

We had around 10% of respondents give us new phone numbers and email addresses, which will really help us to make sure we’re communicating efficiently with our tenants and using correct contact details.

We also received 229 new pieces of vulnerability data, which will help us to better understand our tenants’ needs and adapt our services to meet them.

What are the next steps?

After the success of our pilot, we’re now expanding our tenant census to our tenants with a Birmingham post code and we’re really looking forward to seeing the response and building more inclusive, personalised services that work for you.
