Our corporate plan for 2025-2030, Tenants at Heart, lays out our focus on providing high quality and tenant-centric services while strengthening our neighbourhood management by increasing our frontline presence and our impact in local areas.
This is why we’re introducing our localities project and we’re excited to be piloting this in the Handsworth Ward!
We’ll be working with you, our tenants, alongside other organisations in the area like the council, housing associations and community and voluntary sector agencies to help us invest in your area and address some of the issues raised by you.
How we're taking your feedback onboard
We recently ran a survey to help us understand what you’d like us to focus on in your area and what your priorities are. This will help us plan our approach and make improvements to your neighbourhood.
Hopefully you’ll notice that you’re seeing more of us in and around your community over the next few months and we’ll be sure to keep you updated with what we’ve been up to through this dedicated webpage so make sure you check it regularly for updates!
Almost half of you didn’t feel like we made a positive contribution to your neighbourhood. Improving our communications with you, listening to what you would like from us as your landlord and being active within your neighbourhood will help us develop our Handsworth Ward Action Plan.
You can see how some of your feedback has been taken on board below.
To understand and recognise what’s important to you, our tenants in Handsworth, we undertook a survey both through the telephone, and face-to-face. This is what we found...
tenants felt that rubbish on the streets was a problem in the area
tenants stated that anti-social behaviour was disruptive
of tenants feel safe in their homes
of tenants feel part of their local neighbourhood
agree we make it easy for them to communicate with us
feel staff are available when needed
Walkabouts
You said, rubbish and litter are the biggest issue within Handsworth, we have arranged walkabouts to assess the areas where we own homes. This will enable us to highlight hotspots for fly tipping and environmental improvements to help reduce this on our land.
- We'll be doing our walkabout on Murdock Road on Tuesday 24th March from 11am - 1.30pm. Come and have a chat with us about your local area and any issues you’re facing. You can also let us know about any improvements you think your area could benefit from. We look forward to meeting you!
Community event
Almost half of you said, Midland Heart aren't visible in the area you live. So, alongside our walkabouts we're hosting community events where you can come along and let us know any issues you’re having or ask any questions you might have. We look forward to meeting you!
You can meet colleagues from across our organisation, from Repairs, Tenancy Services, Estates Officers and Contract Surveyors.
New dates will be added here when they're confirmed.
