When a tenant’s son kept committing crimes, our Tenancy Services Officer, Rachel, was determined to gather important evidence that was needed. She also worked closely with the police to take the appropriate legal action.

The background

We were made aware of the behaviour of a tenant’s son, who had returned to the area after a 12-month injunction we had taken out against him had expired.

The son had historically been involved in serious firearms-related crimes, including robbery at gun point. He had also carried out further serious crimes since returning to the area.

How we helped

When the son committed two more crimes, in which people’s cars were stolen at gunpoint, Rachel liaised closely with the police to try and resolve the matter. The location of the tenant's home, on the border between West Midlands Police and West Mercia Police, meant that she needed to work with officers from across the two forces.

Proving the son’s involvement in these latest crimes was essential. Rachel sourced the all-important evidence - Ring doorbell camera footage from neighbouring homes that had captured the stolen cars turning up at our tenant’s home shortly after being taken.

The outcome

The quality of this evidence allowed Rachel to go ahead with possession proceedings and led to us to successfully evicting the tenant.

Thanks to Rachel’s persistence and proactive approach to gathering the evidence that was needed, this antisocial behaviour (ASB) matter has now been resolved.
