We want you to live in a happy, safe and clean neighbourhood where you feel proud of your community, and confident that your concerns will be taken seriously. Creating this kind of environment means working together in partnership. To do this, there are lots of agencies working together, with different powers, responsibilities and areas of expertise, to support you, including the police, your local authority and us.
What happens at a community day?
A community day creates a valuable opportunity to speak directly with the relevant agency about any issues affecting you. Whether that’s anti-social behaviour, environmental matters such as waste and fly-tipping, leasehold or tenancy queries, or wider community safety issues – having the right people in the same place at the same time makes it easier to get solutions in place quickly.
Bringing agencies together in this way allows for:
- Immediate advice and practical guidance for your situation.
- Faster referrals between agencies, cutting down delays and repetition.
- Joined-up problem solving leading to better responses.
- Identifying issues before they get worse.
This proactive, partnership-led approach means your concerns can be addressed quickly and effectively, stopping them from turning into more serious or long-term problems. It also strengthens communication between our residents and local services, making sure your feedback is heard and actioned.
Success in action: Heartlands Close/Bacchus Road
We saw this collaborative approach in action at our recent community day at Heartlands Close/Bacchus Road. Following concerns raised about car thefts, delayed waste collections and other environmental issues, we brought together the police, the local councillor and our Estates and Homeownership teams.
Residents were able to receive crime prevention advice, guidance on reporting and monitoring waste collection issues, and information to help them take positive steps to protect themselves, their vehicles and their wider community.
What came out of the day
Alongside reassuring and advising residents on the day, the police committed to carrying out extra patrols in the area to help stop further car thefts. This visible presence, along with collaboration between different agencies, shows our commitment to improving your neighbourhood’s safety and dealing with the issues that matter most to you.
What happens next – and how to get involved
We will continue to hold community days and similar events to make sure you have regular opportunities to raise concerns, ask questions and work with us and our partners to keep your neighbourhood safe, clean and welcoming for everyone.
