We’re often asked why our grounds maintenance work isn’t the same all year round and why our contractors don’t have fixed slots for their visits. This is all because of our seasonal grounds maintenance schedule – carefully planned to keep your communal spaces clean and looking their best!
The schedule is split into two seasons, here’s how it works...
(Please note, the grounds maintenance work varies area to area, depending on what’s needed for your communal spaces)
The growing season takes place in the warmer months, and this is when our contractors aim to visit your spaces fortnightly and cover the following:
-
Regular grass cutting
-
Litter picking
-
Weed control
FUN FACT | A question we always get asked is why our contractors cut the grass and decide to leave it? - This is the ‘cut and drop’ service when the grass gets cut and is left to naturally spread and be absorbed into the ground to create a healthier lawn.
During this season, the grass and plants tend to grow slowly so our focus for this season is safety and long-term care until the weather warms up again. Our contractors aim to visit once a month and cover the following:
-
Heavy pruning
-
Leaf collection
-
Litter picking
-
Moss control
FUN FACT | Pruning the trees and shrubs during the winter season helps them to grow back stronger in Spring!
(Please note, if your grounds maintenance contractor is Tivoli - they will visit your sites once every 3 weeks during the ‘growing season’ and monthly during the ‘winter season’)
There are some things which our grounds maintenance contractors don’t do, such as:
-
Control of invasive weeds (e.g. Japanese Knotweed)
-
Removal of bulk waste
-
Removal of animal or human waste
