Hundreds of customers looking forward to lower festive fuel bills
Customers in 1,400 of our properties can look forward to lower heating bills this winter after their gas boilers were replaced with new “intelligent efficiency” models.
Designed for the social housing market, the Energy Saving Trust-endorsed Potterton Assure boiler uses the right amount of fuel to meet the central heating temperature set and this intelligent efficiency reduces energy bills.
Rob Whalley, Senior Contracts Manager - M&E and Gas Manager, said: “Almost 21,500 of our homes are heated by gas and our customers depend on us to maintain their heating and hot water. Ensuring the boilers we fit are dependable, energy efficient and cost-effective is therefore hugely important.
“We have over a decade long relationship with Baxi Heating so we know they offer tried, tested and reliable products. The Potterton Assure combi boiler has a number of attractive key features including front access to all components and there being no need for special tools or replacement seals when carrying out standard servicing.
“This makes the model ideally-suited to us as it makes maintenance and repair easier – a critical time-saver since as we service almost 21,500 gas boilers every year.
“The boiler is also very compact and easy to install when replacing the existing boiler, making it a simple ‘one-in-one-out’ manoeuvre. This saves our engineers time on every job, giving them more opportunity to spend with customers who require a little more care, such as those who are elderly or disabled.”
Rob added: “We have long sought to remain true to our charitable aims of providing affordable homes. The financial savings that customers can make on their energy bills with the help of this boiler, allows us to meet our commitment to delivering value for money.”
From now on around 1,400 of our customers a year will be benefitting from getting one of the new boilers – and lower heating bills.
