Nuneaton MP visits homes in progress on former council site
Nuneaton MP Marcus Jones paid a visit to our St Mary’s Road site to see the progress we’ve made so far on 95 new affordable homes.
The land was a Nuneaton Borough Council depot for more than 50 years, but following the depot’s relocation it will now become home to 83 houses and 12 flats, comprising both affordable rent and shared ownership.
The former council leader was given a tour of the once-familiar site, including a look inside a two-bedroom house that is nearing completion and an overview of what the finished £14.5m development will look like.
The visit was hosted by our Chairman John Edwards and Executive Director of Strategy and Growth Joe Reeves.
Reflecting on the visit, Joe Reeves said: “We were delighted to show Marcus around our St Mary’s Road site and have the opportunity to discuss affordable housing in Nuneaton with him in detail.
“These types of visit are important for Midland Heart, as they enable us to gain more insight into an area and its housing needs, as well as demonstrating first-hand to local leaders the hard work and close attention to quality that goes into every one of our affordable developments.”
St Mary’s Road is just one of several developments currently under way in collaboration with new homes specialist Partner, as part of our formal agreement to work together to deliver at least 150 new homes across the Midlands every year. Read more about the partnership here.
