Sizzling celebration of diversity, health and wellbeing

Staff and customers at Birmingham Foyer joined in the recent West Midlands Combined Authority Mayor's Community Weekend with a celebration of their Midland Heart community.

The Foyer team encouraged tenants new and old to come together, engage with our partners and have an afternoon of food, fun and music at the Foyer development.

Support worker Betty Fisher said: "We were really pleased with the turnout and extremely lucky with the weather. I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone in our team who put a lot of effort and time into making this event possible.

"Everyone's hard work was rewarded with a lovely, positive and enjoyable afternoon."

The aim of West Midlands Mayor Andy Street's Community Weekend was to celebrate diversity, health and wellbeing and encourage social interaction. The National Lottery provided funding of up to £500 to groups organising an event.

The fabulously sunny weather provided the perfect setting for a sizzling barbecue.

Youth Promise Plus were among the guests, giving our customers a chance  to learn about the support available to help them find the right opportunities to move towards sustainable employment or training.

Street League also came along to promote their 10-week sport and employability courses during which young people can keep fit and socialise whilst looking for work.
